Enable Law client speaks out to raise awareness of cervical cancer
1 Min Read
Julie O’Connor is a 47 year old woman whose cervical cancer was missed by consultants at Southmead Hospital over a three-year period. She has recently spoken out about the treatment she received in an effort to highlight the need for cervical smear tests and seek a wider review of Southmead Hospital’s pathology service.
Her story can be read here.
Jackie Linehan, Legal Director at Enable Law is working on Julie’s case against Southmead Hospital and says:
‘Julie is humbling. Despite the terrible experience she has had her first thoughts are for others. She is urging women nationally to attend their cervical smear tests and seeking a wider review of pathology at Southmead Hospital to ensure that all is done to check whether there are other women in Bristol who have had their diagnosis missed before it is too late to make a difference.’
