Volunteers Week – Wednesday 7 June 2017

As part of Volunteers Week, on Wednesday 7 June Plymouth University will play host to the Inspiring Volunteer Awards, a partnership between Improving Lives Plymouth (formerly Plymouth Guild), Plymouth University and Plymouth Herald.
The invitation-only awards were created as an opportunity for Improving Lives Plymouth to highlight the value of volunteering to the local community, as well as giving the University a way to celebrate the volunteering work done by their students.
Volunteers Week takes place annually between 1 and 7 June, organised by the NCVO, and is a nationwide opportunity to show appreciation for the contribution which volunteering makes to the UK.
This year Improving Lives Plymouth celebrates their 110th year of helping local people to improve their quality of life via the provision of information, advice and practical support on a variety of subjects.
Katja Robins from our Medical Negligence team has been looking for ways in which Enable Law can assist Improving Lives Plymouth with their work, and has been asked to present one of the awards.
Katja says; “The Awards are a celebration of those individuals who volunteer and make a real difference in the quality of lives of others.
” At Enable Law we support individuals from diverse backgrounds, in good times and bad, to help them achieve the best result from their claim. We are passionate about enabling them to live as full a life as possible and know the huge difference that volunteers can make.
We therefore want to shout about the many volunteers who go to great lengths to make this difference day in day out. They are the real heroes in our eyes.”
