I currently provide specialist advice and support to individuals and public bodies in the area of Mental Capacity and Court of Protection proceedings. I am an experienced advocate in Court proceedings and am frequently instructed by the Official Solicitor and advocates, to act for individuals who lack capacity to make certain decisions.
I have over 25 years’ experience in providing advice on contentious Public Law matters, including advising upon child protection, vulnerable adults and mental health. I have extensive experience in both issuing and defending Judicial Review Proceedings.
I have acted as legal advisor to a number of statutory bodies including Safeguarding Boards and have advised upon serious case reviews when children or vulnerable adults have suffered serious injury or death.
My particular expertise is my experience and understanding of the statutory responsibilities of Local Authorities and Health Bodies.
