Enable Law is strengthening the specialist services it offers clients under a new initiative launched by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). In a move which will ensure that Enable Law stays at the forefront of personal injury provision, we have joined forces with 13 other law firms under the APIL-devised scheme. The ‘Corporate Supporter Scheme’ gives founder members like Enable Law the opportunity to collaborate strategically with APIL, work with other firms to face key challenges in the sector and expand APIL’s campaigning and research work.
Commenting on the new scheme, Enable Law partner Claire Leslie said:
“We are always looking to improve the expert support we provide for people who are affected by personal injury and that is why we signed up as founder members of this very important APIL initiative. We are proud of our track record of fighting for the rights of people who have suffered serious and catastrophic injuries and collaboration with other leading firms will strengthen Enable Law’s specialist work in this area. Our commitment to the APIL scheme, means that we will play a key role in addressing the pressing challenges facing personal injury specialists like Enable Law and most importantly, by working together for the good of our clients it will enhance our ability to fight their corner.”
Welcoming the ‘Corporate Supporter Scheme’, APIL chief executive Mike Benner insisted that the collaboration of Enable Law and other law firms will keep its members on the front foot.
“Injured people and those who represent them have to stay ahead of the game in terms of misconceptions and reforms which are not in the best interest of victims and survivors. APIL has always punched above its weight in this work and now, with the help of firms who have signed up as corporate supporters, we will build on our well-established campaign and research capabilities.”
While APIL’s work schedule will continue unchanged, Mr Benner said the difference “will be seen in three distinct areas which will benefit directly from income generated by the scheme”.
As well as investment in developing the scheme, funds will be used to enhance APIL’s judicial review funding capability and support a research function, which is unique to the sector. The initiative will also help build APIL’s flagship ‘Rebuilding Shattered Lives’ campaign, which aims to change public perceptions about personal injury and those who rely on it to rebuild their lives.
