“I am proud to have helped many people and families over the years to find answers to what has happened to them or their loved ones, and by obtaining life changing compensation to enable them to get the help that they need. I am a huge believer that the work we do improves patient safety and ensures that lessons are learned.”

I have significant experience of advising clients on all aspects of clinical negligence claims.  My particular expertise includes delay in diagnosing meningitis cases, amputation claims and complex birth injury claims resulting in neurological injury to the baby. In addition, I investigate claims on behalf of mothers who have suffered incontinence from perineal tears.

I also have a special interest in claims involving tethered spinal cords, where there has been a failure or delay in detecting this leading to catastrophic outcomes.

I work hard for my clients, ensuring that all aspects of a potential claim is considered. I understand how hard it is to come to solicitors and I support my clients through the process every step of the way.

Career Highlights

  • Achieving admissions of liability and securing significant compensation for a client who is a minor who suffered severe orthopaedic injuries including amputation as a result of a delay in diagnosing meningitis. These interim payments are assisting the family in obtaining necessary treatment, adaptations to the family home and additional care costs whilst the claim continues.
  • Securing early judgment and a substantial interim payment for a Claimant who suffered a below the knee amputation.
  • Securing compensation in excess of £100,000 for a client who was rendered infertile by hospital negligence. This included successfully recovering compensation to enable the couple to undergo IVF and surrogacy.
  • Settling a claim in the region of £350,000 for a client who suffered an extravasation injury to her wrist. The claimant was unable to pursue their career ambition of becoming a headteacher and the compensation included loss of earnings as a result.
  • I was involved in pursuing a large group action against an NHS Hospital Trust investigating gynaecological claims for over 200 women. We were able to secure compensation for a significant number of the women.
  • Settled a case involving delay in diagnosing meningitis causing life changing orthopaedic injuries for a capitalised sum of over £14 million.
  • Concluded a complex spinal injury claim for a client in the region of £2 million, plus an agreement whereby the Trust would pay an additional annual sum for the rest of the Claimant’s life if the Claimant lost their entitlement to state funding.
  • Secured early judgment and a substantial interim payment for a Claimant who suffered a below the knee amputation.
  • Joint co-ordinator for the Devon and Cornwall region of Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
