I am an Associate based at our Southampton Office and specialise in dealing Court of Protection matters to support clients who have suffered a loss of capacity in relation to their property and financial affairs.
I am experienced in high value Court of Protection matters, dealing with investment of financial awards following successful claims for personal injury or medical negligence and in making applications to the Court of Protection for both professional and lay deputies to be appointed.
My work involves liaising with Case Managers, support workers and the families of the client to assist with day to day living and with the client’s benefits.
I also deal with applications to the Court to authorise the purchase of holiday homes abroad and liaising with the Lawyers abroad to deal with the transaction and setting up of the holiday home.
I am involved in overseeing building projects with Architects and Building Contractors for adaptations of properties for our clients to also include hydrotherapy pools.
I have been working in Law since 1989 starting in probate work and then moving to Court of Protection work.
I enjoy a good relationship with my clients some of whom I have worked with for over 20 years and the variety of work makes it very interesting as no day is the same and it can be very rewarding.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and grandchildren, gardening, reading and holidays.
