We are delighted to announce the hiring of specialist brain injury lawyer Huw Ponting.

Huw joins our Bristol office as a partner and brings considerable experience of representing victims of head and brain injuries to the firm.

He previously worked at Novum Law, formerly the personal injury team at Thrings, where he was a partner and then director for over 20 years.

Huw also acts as a deputy – a professional appointed by the Court of Protection to help individuals look after their financial affairs when they lack the mental capacity to do so themselves.

In this role he acts for a number of his current and former brain injury clients, managing their compensation awards and helping them to live as independently as possible.

Huw Ponting said “I am delighted to move my practice to Enable Law to add to its already significant presence in the fields of complex litigation and specialist Court of Protection work”.

Rob Antrobus, partner and Head of Enable Law, added: “It’s great to be able to welcome a lawyer of Huw’s calibre and expertise to Enable Law.

“The partners and the rest of the team are excited to be working alongside him to deliver the best possible service for our clients.”

Outside of the office, Huw chairs the board of trustees of Headway Bristol and recently joined the board of Herefordshire Headway, both charities that support those living with brain injury.

He lectures frequently and trains other solicitors, barristers, students, case managers and other professionals working in the field of brain injury on complex aspects of law and rehabilitation.
