This is an unusual case of a horse riding accident in the New Forest, caused when Julia Prior‘s client was thrown from her horse when it was spooked by a low flying MOD helicopter.
The MOD will generally never admit liability for such a claim, but even so, they agreed to deal with the claim.
Julia’s client suffered a nasty injury to her shoulder and needed surgery to repair it. She was left with permanent symptoms to her shoulder which meant she would continue to need help with the heavier work around her farm.
She claimed for loss of earnings for her work teaching horse riding and running cross country clinics.
Her claim settled for £23,000.
