Following on from the previous reports of sexual abuse within professional football clubs Northumbria Police have reported that a former Newcastle United youth coach has been charged with 29 sexual offences.
Mr Ormond is now 61 years of age and is due to appear before Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on 9 June.
Mr Ormond is the first person to be charged as part of Operation Tide, which was set up to investigate the allegations of child sex abuse at football clubs in the North East.
Gary Walker, Panel Member of the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers, has vast experience of representing survivors of abuse in civil claims.
